සිත ගත දැඩි වුව ද
ඔබ මෙන්ම මා ද
තවමත් ලියවැල් බඳු ය
දස දෙසින් හමනා සුළඟට
සිටුමට නොවැටී නොනැසී එදිරිව
නොතකා දුක කාන්සිය
අවැසිය වැඩ කෙරුමට

On the forest of life, once I found,
A blooming flower, on top of a mound,
So elegant, so calm, Oh! did it astound,
In all its wonder I was caught and bound
